Daily sales tell you how your shop is doing. Here’s how to calculate them correctly.
What to Include
- Cash sales – Money received today
- Card/UPI – Digital payments
- Udhar (credit) – Sales on credit (count when sold, not when paid)
- Returns – Subtract goods returned
Simple Formula
Daily Sales = Cash received + UPI/Card + Udhar given today – Returns
Example: Cash ₹5,000 + UPI ₹3,000 + Udhar ₹2,000 – Returns ₹200 = ₹9,800
Udhar Handling
- Option A – Count udhar when customer takes goods (accrual). Recommended.
- Option B – Count when customer pays (cash basis). Simpler but delays visibility.
