Focus: billing at counter. Scan barcode, add items, accept payment, print receipt. Good for high-transaction stores. Often needs hardware (barcode scanner, receipt printer).

Inventory App

Focus: stock tracking. What’s in stock, what’s selling, when to reorder. May or may not include billing. Lighter, mobile-first.

Overlap

Some POS systems include inventory. Some inventory apps include basic billing. For small kirana, a simple app that does both (stock + bill) can be enough. No need for full POS hardware initially.
