GST Invoice Format – What to Include

GST invoices must include certain details. Here’s the checklist.

Mandatory Fields

  • Supplier name, address, GSTIN
  • Invoice number (unique, sequential)
  • Invoice date
  • Customer name, address, GSTIN (if registered)
  • HSN/SAC codes
  • Item description, quantity, unit, value
  • Taxable value and tax rate
  • CGST, SGST, or IGST amounts
  • Total invoice value
  • Place of supply
  • Signature (digital or physical)

For B2B (Registered Buyers)

  • Customer GSTIN is mandatory
  • Reverse charge applicability if any
  • Invoice must be uploaded to GST portal for ITC
