Low Stock Kab Order Kare – When to Reorder

Last updated:

Order too late: stockouts. Order too early: excess stock. Here’s when to reorder.

Reorder Point Formula

Reorder Point = (Daily Sales × Lead Time) + Safety Stock

  • Daily sales – How much you sell per day
  • Lead time – Days from order to delivery
  • Safety stock – Buffer for demand spike or delay

Example: 10 units/day × 5 days + 20 buffer = 70 units. When stock hits 70, order.

Practical Tips

  • Fast movers – Lower reorder point, order more often
  • Slow movers – Higher buffer, order less
  • Supplier reliability – Add more safety stock if delivery is unreliable
  • Seasonal – Increase before festivals
