Full Stock Take
Count everything at once. Usually done monthly or yearly. Time-consuming. Good for accuracy. Close the shop or count during off-hours.
Cycle Counting
Count a section each day or week. Rotate through all items over a period. Less disruptive. Catches errors gradually.
Steps
- Freeze transactions (or count during low-traffic time)
- Use count sheets or app
- Record actual qty
- Compare with system
- Investigate variances
- Adjust records
